During this sound walk, Noa Timmermans takes you into the soundscape of Mira, a neurodivergent person who is extremely sensitive to sound stimuli. Together, we explore their memories, thoughts and sensory experiences. Through their voice, Noa guides you to places of rest in the city, places where we slow down and listen to what is happening in the world around us at that moment. Between fiction and reality, you also hear Mira’s voice. Their story, their sounds, their way of experiencing things.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometimes we find ourselves in the heart of Mira’s memories, sometimes in the present. But we always remain connected to the place we are in its sounds. This walk opens up a space to listen carefully and share an inner world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Noa Timmermans<\/strong> is a Belgian creator and sound design student in the field of audiovisual arts. After initially training in cinema, she increasingly turned towards <\/span>sound art, deliberately detaching herself from the visual to create a space where listening becomes the central experience.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

In her work, she explores the sensory power of sound and how it can convey <\/span>memories, emotions and physical experiences. In particular, she develops soundscapes and sound walks in which personal narratives, environmental elements and sound layers from field recordings intertwine. Themes such as overstimulation, sensory intensity and the connection to space are a recurring thread in her <\/span>research.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Noa works at the intersection of listening, composition and experience, inspired by <\/span>sound artists such as Hildegard Westerkamp, Janet Cardiff and Pauline Oliveros.
