Through manipulation of its components \u2013 chains, bearings, friction on the tires, melodic phrases from the spokes, percussive hits on the frame, and pedalling on the freewheel \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arthurlacomme.net\/klankenfiets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the bike<\/a> transforms into a musical instrument. \u201cVelode \u00e0 la Radio\u201d, a true \u2018\u2018biking ode\u2019\u2019 to the radio, will dive into the invisible waves of FM, drawing inspiration from the pirate radio stations of the 1980s. Back then, underground communities used technologie to broadcast what was unheard on legal airwaves, making this a real ode to the spirit of free radio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00b0\u00b0\u00b0<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Arthur Lacomme<\/strong> explores the sonic possibilities of FM broadcast, electronic devices, and the rhythmic,\u00a0 metallic qualities of vibrating objects. His approach is highly experimental, emphasizing improvisation, instability and unpredictability with non-traditional instruments. He creates diverse sound performances using an array of devices \u2013 skate modules, pots and pans, prepared pianos, aquariums, hacked joysticks, radio transmitters, electromagnetic waves and everyday objects and electronic machines made from recycled materials.
