From Sunday 28 January to Sunday 2 February 2025, La Semaine du Son is hosting a temporary exhibition of sound installations on the theme of Sub Terra at the MIM.
The opening of the exhibition will take place on 28/01 between 12 noon and 2pm. There will also be two musical performances in the MIM concert hall.
Come and discover the sound installations/exhibitions:
- Le bruit de fond – Thibault Jehanne
Thibault Jehanne’s Le bruit de fond is a field-recording installation of the soil of a vast wasteland awaiting new housing, where the land still bears the residues of an industrial activity that has been dormant since the 1970s. - RhizoRythme – Prosépin
RhizoRythme, created by Prosépin (Antoine Pouchoulou), is a participatory and immersive installation designed to highlight the links that unite us, imperceptibly and unnoticed. It invites the public to don a heartbeat sensor and listen to the collective beat.
With performances at 12.30pm:
- Transparent Music – Florence Cats (prepared theremin)
Florence Cats presents Transparent Music, a performance for theremin, water, voice, radio, and residues of found and recorded elements, inspired by the tenuous sounds and feelings that inhabit the infra.
- Winterslag – Clara Levy (violin)
A new live version of Winterslag is presented by violinist and improviser Clara Levy, based on a project developed in the old Genk mine and inspired by the acoustics of the site, miners’ songs and the different states of coal.
